When you come to Bulgaria, you will have the opportunity to taste the various and delicious cuisine, containing different salads, stews, incredible breadstuffs and so many other dishes. A big part of them is prepared following the traditional recipes, from hand to hand of the different and growing generations over years and centuries.
Some of the unique Bulgarian products which you will only find here are the yogurt and the Bulgarian white brine (feta) cheese. You can see them very often in Bulgarian dishes and on the traditional Bulgarian table. And do not forget to try the Bulgarian banitsa, because you will never eat something so delicious like it – it is made from dough with various fillings, such as cheese, spinach, rice and meat.
In Bulgaria the salads take main place on the lunch and dinner table, considering the culinary tradition. It is because this country is well known in growing a lot of vegetables with an incredible taste. Most popular are the Shopska Salad, Snezhanka, Monk’s Salad, Dobrudzha Salad, Roasted Pepper Salad and many others. And, of course, one of the most popular appetizers is the Bulgarian Tarator – a cold soup, made out of cucumbers, yogurt, dill, and crashed walnuts.
