Lying in Southeastern Europe Bulgaria is a real bond between the worlds of the East and the West. It is easy to reach – only 2-3 hours flight from most of the big European capitals and airports.
Four Seasons Climate
The temperature climate region and the Mediterranean influence to the climate set the pattern for the four soft and pleasant seasons and the excellent opportunities for travelling and tourism through the whole year.
Rich in History and Culture
Bulgaria is a land with extremely old history. The newest science investigations and studies open our eyes for the existence of a civilization very ancient but very advanced as well which is dated from 3500-4000 years BC. This civilization, considering the studies, possesses a script before even the Sumer or the Thracian ones. On the lands of Bulgaria you can find tracks from many old and legendary peoples – not only Thracians, but also Celts, Slavs, Byzantines, Romanians and centuries after that – traces from the Ottoman Empire.
Authentic folklore and traditions
Lazarice, Kukeri, Nestinar, Surva – these are just a part of the many unique Bulgarian traditions and customs that have saved its authenticity through all the centuries. The Bulgarian folklore songs are inspiring people from all parts of the world and some of them are even flying in space.
Here is what we mean:
Bulgaria has let her voice be heard with the help of the very famous Bulgarian singer that is Valya Mladenova Balkanska. She is most famous for performing the song Izlel e Delyo hajdutin, which was sent to space on board of Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 probes in 1977. Carl Sagan known as one of the creators of Voyager Golden Record, only advanced alien civilizations would be able to play it.
Delicious food and excellent wine
Bulgaria is also famous with its admirable cuisine, very different from others. You can have a bite from Rhodope cheverme, which is lamb roasted on a spit over an open fire, the fish soup from the Danube, the Thracian catmi, which actually a pancake, made in different way from the traditional one and is quite bigger.
Also enjoy your glass of incredible Bulgarian wine, because you will never find such like it. Bulgaria is one of the biggest leaders in wine-making together with countries like Spain, France, Greece and Italy. We have many red and wine famous wines.
Considering the historic and archaeological studies it is almost sure that Bulgarian lands were the first ones on which wine appeared and was started to been made, also the first region where vine-growing and cultivating had begun being professional occupation. Also Bulgarian monastic orders had first been reported to have stored wine in cool vaults deep under the ground level. That means that maybe the wine cellar was as well invented first by Bulgarians.
Bulgaria is a successor to historical and cultural heritage of whole seven great and ancient civilizations. This country takes the third place regarding its consistence and number of cultural monuments and as well its variety of valuables. Seven cultural monuments and two cultural sites are considered as unique and inscribed in UNESCO World Heritage List. We also have 40 thousands immovable cultural monuments and around 5 million movable valuables we have saved in our museums.

European and yet unique
They say the special is hidden in the details. In Bulgaria you can find these villages that we only see in movies, untouched by the civilization. Bulgarian tomatoes and pepper still have the taste of real vegetables that many of the European countries have long forgotten. Here and there you will meet a house-wife that is making winter supplies, home-made rakia and wine.
